The white willow is used since ancient times to combat pain and fever; thanks to discoveries made in 1828, when a group of chemicals (European) isolated salicin, were confirmed the healing properties of what we now know as aspirin in the form acetyl-salicylic acid as an analgesic, anti-rheumatic, antispasmodic, antipyretic , tonic, sedative and styptic.
